Hey Adventure Agent families! Agent Strongman here.
Stashed within a 1 hour drive from downtown Pittsburgh, this treasure is on public land. It is accessible for all family members capable of a 3 mile hike from the nearest parking area.
WARNING: The terrain is quite technical and VERY slippery. Please, take your time on this one. The treasure will try to pull you toward it in a hurry, but I urge you to be patient. Watch your step, but also stay alert to what is ahead and above. This one will be tricky and require immense focus!! Be prepared for any and all weather conditions! Check the forecast, prep accordingly, and have your wits about you!
Now that you’re aware of the preliminary details, let's get to the good stuff… the riddle!!
Study the riddle closely. Screenshot it, copy it, download it, do what you must! Just be sure you have access to it while you’re on the hunt (there may be stretches of this journey that put you out of cell service).
Good luck Agents!
Full Pittsburgh, PA Riddle ⬇⬇⬇
A park is often described,
By a story it has survived,
In books and posters it's printed,
But this place is a little different.
Encompassing many acres of land,
This spot has its own brand,
Of historical landmarks to see,
Formed by draining, of a massive degree.
Ancient lakes of the past,
Pressured soil to collapse,
Creating the channel we now see,
Put in simple terms, Slippery.
A famous bridge uses Howe's,
Ingenious design to allow,
The people of today to travel over,
And witness the ripples against the boulders.
Start at the Mill and cross over,
This road built for a single motor,
On the other side there’s a climb,
Keep left now and take your time.
Ahead of you is a path,
If impatient you’ll feel its wrath,
Blotted consistently with blue and yellow,
I again caution, keep it mellow.
The first of many a mark,
Can be found on the bark,
Of the tree that supports the buoy,
For emergency uses only.
Keeping track will be key,
Don’t you dare miss a tree,
But only those that are seen,
When headed down the ravine.
While many will fit the description,
Of DB’s hidden treasure position,
Only one crevice does contain,
The tokens of his legend that remain.
This gap is found before a hill,
Careful not to take a spill,
You’ve counted carefully the timber,
But near which one are you a winner?
Giving away would be too easy,
18 or 19, you tell me?
Another buoy marks a spot,
I think it’s the third in line, I thought?
You’ll have to check my math to see,
Who is right, you or me?
Once you’ve found it you can say,
I figured it out either way!
One last hint before you scurry,
You can use on your journey,
Only on the uphill side,
Of the path does it reside.
Good Luck Agents!
