A Menehune once was,
So skilled and so kind,
To craft up 3 treasures,
For Ohanas to find.
For the first you must start,
Near a house made of light,
Just beneath Maui’s chin,
Such a beautiful sight.
Put your back at it’s front,
And face ye the sea,
Then walk to the path,
Of steep treachery.
Go carefully down,
The obvious path,
Don’t fall in the sea,
To suffer its wrath.
On reaching the base,
Look sharp and look high,
In shadow of rock,
By the ‘Ohelo Kai.
Enjoy ye the treasure,
But leave ye my chest,
To share the Aloha,
Please let it rest.
-
The second is found,
Where stories first told,
With Ki’i Pohaku,
The art that’s most old.
Park near the path,
That’s blocked by rocks three,
Then follow the trail,
Of Menehune.
Stop at the Great Wall,
Of past ancient time,
Before the great flow,
The ocean’s life-line.
Go with the flow,
‘Till wall disappears,
And look in the tree,
With Rusty Barbed Spears.
Just like before,
Please leave my chest,
The treasure is yours,
But share ye the quest.
-
The third and the greatest
Is found inside me,
“Who am I?” you ask,
Why Pu’u Ola’i.
Start where you dare,
There’s more than one trail,
Take lots of water,
So organs don’t fail.
Careful the path,
A slippery slope,
Shoes roll on clinkers,
Stay steady keep hope.
Hike to the top,
Then look down within,
Enter my mouth,
At lowest of rim.
Once down inside,
Look for a great sea,
Made not of water,
But plants that soothe thee.
Wade carefully in,
The prickly patch,
The sea has its spines,
Your skin they will scratch.
An island is there,
As hard as a stone,
Look at the base,
There treasure is sown.
Just like the two,
Please leave box and key,
So others can solve,
My Aloha mystery!
Mahalo my friend,
I hope you now see,
The great craft and skill,
Of Menehune.
When you find the boxes, please do not take the boxes! Please leave them in place for future Agents to find. Just take 1 coin per agent as your prize.
